Xiaomi has officially introduced the budget flagship Redmi K80 Pro with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a capacious battery

Xiaomi has officially introduced its flagship smartphone Redmi K80 Pro and its special version, the Champion Edition, inspired by the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 supercar, to the Chinese market. The device has a dual-layer glass body with an ultra-thin 1.9 mm bezel around the screen, which is 21% thinner than its predecessor. Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 protective glass provides the device with 20 times greater strength, according to the manufacturer.

Redmi K80 Pro has a 6.67-inch TCL M9 OLED flat panel with a resolution of 3200×1440, a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz (LTPS), 12-bit color depth and a maximum brightness of 3200 nits. Xiaomi Qingshan Eye Care 2.0 technology reduces eye strain. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is installed under the screen.

The device is built on a 3-nanometer Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which, according to the manufacturer, provides improved energy efficiency compared to its predecessor, increasing CPU performance by 45% and GPU performance by 44%.

The Redmi K80 Pro is equipped with a dedicated D1 gaming chip, LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage, and Fury Engine 4.0 technology for dynamic frequency scaling. The improved dual-circuit 3D cooling, according to Xiaomi, ensures “smooth and stable performance during intensive games.”

The Redmi K80 Pro is equipped with a multi-aspect triple camera with optical stabilization and 13.2EV cinematic dynamic range with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a 32MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120° field of view, and a 50MP telephoto camera that provides 2.5x optical zoom, 5x lossless zoom, 20x digital zoom, and a macro mode for difficult shots in close-up. The selfie camera is 20MP.

The device has a built-in infrared remote control and NFC support. The phone is equipped with a special Surge T1S signal amplification chip, which provides 19 5G bands to ensure reliable connectivity. Built-in stereo speakers provide loud and clear sound. The smartphone runs on HyperOS 2, which provides improved performance, faster application launch and minimal latency.

The K80 Pro has a 6,000 mAh battery. The kit has 120 W fast wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. The smartphone has IP68 protection against dust and water. Redmi K80 Pro is available in Snow Rock White, Mountain Green and Midnight Black colors.

Redmi K80 Pro is offered in four configurations at the following prices:

• Redmi K80 Pro 12GB/256GB: 3699 yuan ($511);
• Redmi K80 Pro 12GB/512GB: 3999 yuan ($553);
• Redmi K80 Pro 16GB/512GB: 4299 yuan ($594);
• Redmi K80 Pro 16GB/1TB: 4799 yuan ($663). 

Xiaomi has also introduced a special edition of the Redmi K80 Pro Champion Edition. According to the company, its design is inspired by the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 supercar, which is highlighted by the Y-shaped lines on the rear panel, "reflecting its racing DNA."

The Redmi K80 Pro Champion Edition comes in a single configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and comes with accessories like a charger, data cable, SIM ejector tool, protective case, and user manual. The phone comes pre-installed with themes and wallpapers that “highlight its premium and exclusive appeal.”

The Redmi K80 Pro Champion Edition is available in Dark Gray and Green colors and is priced at CNY 4,999 ($691).
