WhatsApp developers have announced the launch of a new feature that will help separate or merge contacts across devices. This is reported on the WhatsApp blog.
This feature allows you to securely add and manage contacts on any device. Previously, it was only available on phones. users could add a contact using a phone number or QR code. It will now be available on WhatsApp Web and Windows PCs, and later on other compatible devices.
There is no need to save contacts on the phone anymore. now you just need to add them directly to WhatsApp. This is especially convenient if more than one person uses the device or if the user wants to conduct personal and business correspondence in different accounts of the application.
It is noted that contacts added to WhatsApp can be restored even if the user loses the phone or accesses the application from another device.
"We are gradually moving towards allowing you to save and manage contacts by username. Thanks to this, you will be able to communicate without revealing your phone number, and correspondence will become more confidential," the messenger's blog post says.
