Sony has announced a new version of its popular gaming console, the PlayStation 5 Pro. The new device is aimed at gamers who want maximum performance.
Let's try to find out what's known about the new console.
The PlayStation 5 Pro features an improved graphics chip, ray tracing support, and proprietary PSSR image scaling technology based on machine learning. These innovations provide increased frame rates and improved image detail. The new GPU is 67% more powerful and the memory is 28% faster than the base PS5. This results in 45% faster gameplay rendering, providing smoother gaming. Performance when using ray tracing has increased threefold.
Sony promises that more than 8,500 games created for PS4 and PS5 will run better on the PS5 Pro. The console also supports VRR and 8K, features Wi-Fi 7, and a removable disc drive similar to the one found in the PS5 Slim.
During the presentation, videos were shown demonstrating the improved performance of games such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Through Worlds on the PS5 Pro compared to the base version of the console. The PS5 Pro with 2 TB of storage will cost $700 or €800 depending on the region for the version. Sales will begin on November 7, and pre-orders will be available from September 26.
