Google shows new smart watch and Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones

At the Made by Google 2024 event, which took place yesterday, the Google company, among other innovations, showed a new smart watch Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones, which have an active noise cancellation function using artificial intelligence.

Pixel Watch 3

The in-house Pixel Watch 3 smartwatch is now available in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. The watch got an LTPO AMOLED screen with a maximum brightness of up to 2000 nits and a pixel density of 320 PPI regardless of the screen size. The new device has a dynamic refresh rate of up to 60 Hz, and the screen is protected by tempered Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Pixel Watch 3 41 and 45 mm versions have a battery capacity of 307 and 420 mAh, respectively, which according to the manufacturer will ensure the operation of the smartphone for up to 24 hours in normal mode and up to 36 hours in power saving mode.

The performance of the new product is provided by the Qualcomm SW5100 chip, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in memory. The watch also received UWB, LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi and GPS support. The body of the accessory is made of recycled aluminum and has IP68 protection, as well as a water resistance level of 5 bar.

The Pixel Watch 3 (41mm) with Wi-Fi and LTE costs $350 and $450, and the 45mm version costs $400 and $500.

Pixel Buds Pro 2

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 wireless earphones are powered by Google's own Tensor A1 processor. According to the company, it's very powerful, so much so that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 provide twice as much active noise cancellation as the original Pixel Buds Pro in the mid-range (400Hz - 2kHz). Moreover, this function adapts to the environment at a rate of 3 million times per second.

Pixel Buds Pro 2 is 24% lighter and 27% smaller than the original Pixel Buds Pro. The company says that the new headphone model was developed based on the analysis of images of 45 million different ear shapes, so the new product is as comfortable as possible for all-day wear.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 use 11mm drivers. The headset provides spatial audio via head tracking. They also offer Google Gemini AI support through their own mobile app.

Google notes that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 have directional microphones with a special mesh cover that protects against the wind, and thanks to Google AI support, provides additional voice clarity when talking to the interlocutor. Pixel Buds Pro 2 also has a Find My Device feature to help you find your missing items. If the earbud or case is lost, it will make a sound to help you find it. In addition, the headset can connect to multiple audio sources at the same time.

The updated Pixel Buds mobile app that comes with the headset offers five equalizer settings. Google promises that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 will last up to 8 hours in active noise cancellation mode (12 hours without it), and up to 30 hours when recharging from the case with the same feature enabled (up to 48 without it).

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is available for pre-order on the Google Store in four colors, priced at $229. Delivery will start from September 26.
