A new feature has been added to WhatsApp

In the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone, a "picture-in-picture" feature has been discovered, allowing users to watch videos in a small window. This was reported by the WABetaInfo portal.

The new feature was spotted in WhatsApp for iOS under version number 24.7.10.73. Users who have installed the beta version of the application via the TestFlight service can now watch videos from YouTube and Instagram (the owner company Meta has been recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), sent to WhatsApp, in a floating window mode. In the future, the feature will also work with video files uploaded directly in the messenger.

Currently, the feature restricts video viewing only within the application — attempting to switch to the home screen or open another application will close the video window. It is expected that this will be addressed in the future, allowing users to use all smartphone functions without interrupting video playback.

The new "picture-in-picture" feature for videos is still in development and is only available as part of beta testing. There is no information on when this feature will be available to all WhatsApp users.
