iPhone 15 Pro may not have buttons: Is that good idea?

November 3, 2022  21:20

Apple may replace the regular volume and power buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones with touch buttons. That, at least, is the rumor online. But how good an idea is it to do away with the usual buttons for many?

According to many users of the social network Weibo, the idea is actually not very good.

Back in 2019, Huawei already tried to release a smartphone without push buttons. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro had a waterfall screen, and there were touch buttons on the sides of the display that could be used to adjust the volume.

The idea seemed quite interesting, until in practice, users began to have problems: many, for example, noticed frequent false responses in response to accidental touch - or even when the smartphone was just held in the hands.

Since there was quite a lot of criticism about this model, Huawei made the next phone - Mate 40 Pro - with the usual, familiar to all users buttons.

Users fear that if Apple releases the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with touch buttons, problems will arise in the same way as with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. And in this case, problems will also arise with the sale of smartphones 2023, which in turn could be a serious test for Apple, which is not doing very well even today: at least the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models are selling very poorly.

According to experts from TrendForce, a Taiwanese research company, the iPhone 15 Pro smartphones will have more RAM (8GB instead of the 6GB of this year's models), several improved cameras with 10x optical zoom instead of 3x, and a USB-C port. Pro models may also get Apple's latest processor, the A17 Bionic.
