Apple will raise iPhone prices and will produce fewer smartphones

The Apple company intends to increase the price of the flagship models of the iPhone 15 Pro series of smartphones, and will also produce fewer new smartphones this year than last year, Bloomberg reports.

According to the agency, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will cost more than their predecessors, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Sources of the agency said that with this Apple wants to increase its revenues in the conditions of the expected decline in demand for smartphones.

Additionally, Apple plans to ship 85 million iPhone 15s by the end of 2023, up from the 90 million iPhone 14s ordered from suppliers last year.

As Bloomberg notes, the company's plans are not yet final, and Apple is only considering the possibility of price increases.

According to the agency, the price of the basic iPhone 15 and 15 Plus smartphones will not change and will be $799 and $899, respectively. However, even the approximate price of flagship models remains unknown.

Notably, Apple hasn't raised the price of its premium smartphones since 2019, when the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max hit the market at $999 and $1,099, respectively. Additionally, analysts and insiders have previously reported on the expected price change for the flagship iPhone 15 Pro. And that's because it will use more premium components and better hardware.

The presentation of the iPhone 15 series is expected in September, although it was previously reported that the presentation may be delayed until October 2023.
