New virus steals Telegram accounts, bank data: Who can be affected by it?

Specialists at cybersecurity company Guardz have discovered a new type of malware called ShadowVault, which is designed specifically to steal confidential data from computers running macOS. This is reported on the company's website.

According to Guardz, ShadowVault is being sold on the Darknet for $500 per month, which is twice as cheap as the Atomic Stealer, software designed to steal information from Apple computers.

Running in the background on macOS computers, ShadowVault can quietly steal passwords, cookie files, bank card details, e-wallets, and all information obtained from browser extensions, and steal Telegram accounts and some other confidential data.

Also, the developers of ShadowVault pledge to provide—for an additional fee—malware signed by an Apple developer.

Experts note, however, that ShadowVault cannot access Safari browser data in any way. But this program poses a serious threat to other popular browsers and even to users of Apple's Keychain feature, which helps save logins and passwords on macOS and iOS.
