Tinder leaves Russia: It is no longer possible to “swipe” profiles in a popular dating app

June 30, 2023  16:15

The popular dating app Tinder has stopped working in Russia. Russians can no longer find and download this application on Google Play and the App Store as it is blocked for their country.

According to TASS, you can still log into your existing account in this application from Android devices, but you cannot use its main functionality, that is, “swipe” people's profiles. When you try to do this, the application displays an error notification and a request to come back later. However, the functionality of the application is still available when VPN is enabled.

From June 30, according to the owner of the application, paid subscriptions to Tinder in Russia will no longer be automatically renewed. However, users who have previously purchased semi-annual and annual subscriptions will be able to return funds through a special form on the site.

In addition, until June 30, 2023, you could delete your account in the settings in the app. After this date, the user can do this using the Account Management tool.

Recall that back in early May, Match Group, which owns a number of online dating services, including Tinder, announced that it would leave Russia by June 30.
