Ingenuity took an interesting photo on Mars։ Can you spot the Perseverance rover?

April 27, 2023  15:35

NASA's Ingenuity helicopter made its 51st flyby of Mars on April 22 and photographed its robotic companion, the Perseverance rover, from 40 feet (12 meters) above the planet's surface.

In the photo, you can see the famous reddish soil of Mars, and in the background, the Perseverance rover, which is almost indistinguishable from the large rocks scattered on the surface of the Red Planet.

If you can't find the rover in the photo, the video and photo at the end of this article will help you find it.

According to Space.com, Ingenuity's 51st flight lasted just under 137 seconds. During this time, the helicopter flew a total distance of 188 meters.

The Ingenuity helicopter was sent to Mars attached to the floor of the Mars rover Perseverance, which landed in Ezero Crater on February 18, 2021. Ingenuity performs reconnaissance work for Perseverance, helping to identify sites of interest to the rover in its mission to search for signs of ancient life on the Red Planet. Because the distance between Earth and Mars is too great, remote control of the helicopter is impossible, so it flies along a pre-programmed route.
