New update expected on WhatsApp: What new features will be added?

March 22, 2023  20:04

A new update is expected in the WhatsApp messenger, within which a number of new functions will be added, according to a post the messenger published on its official blog.

“Today we’re excited to roll out a few new changes we’ve made to make groups more manageable for admins and easier to navigate for everyone,” reads the article.

WhatsApp explained that the new features were initiated to give administrators more options to control the privacy of groups, as "members of groups often communicate about personal topics."

After installing the update, admins will be able to decline or accept requests to join a group via an invitation link or directly from the community.

The blog post also states that now users will also be able to check which groups they and their friends are members of: from now on it will be possible to see the complete list of these general groups.

“With the growth of Communities and their larger groups, we want to make it easy to know which groups you have in common with someone,” reads the post.

These features will start rolling out globally over the coming weeks, as we continue to build new tools to make groups the best experience for admins and members alike.

Earlier it became known that WhatsApp will soon have a new feature that will help protect against calls from spammers, fraudsters and other miscreants. The new function will allow you to block calls from unknown numbers. In this case, the caller will not receive any notification that their call is not seen or heard, and the user will not even know about a potentially dangerous call from an unknown subscriber.

The messenger recently released a number of other features and announced that a number of innovations are expected in 2023.
