The upcoming Google Pixel 9a smartphone will be bigger and more powerful than its predecessor from Google's mid-range smartphone family, Android Headlines reports, citing multiple sources.
The Pixel 9a will have a 6.3-inch Actua display, the same size as the older Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, and larger than the Pixel 8a, which has a 6.1-inch display. The screen of the new budget model will also have an adaptive refresh rate, which will be able to switch between 60 and 120 Hz modes.
Pixel 9a will be powered by Google Tensor G4 processor. The amount of RAM will be 8 GB, built-in: 128 and 256 GB. The battery capacity will be 5000 mAh, while the Pixel 8a has 4492 mAh, although it has a smaller screen. Charging power will remain the same at 18W wired and 7.5W wireless.
The Pixel 9a will have a 48MP main camera and a 13MP wide-angle camera on the back. The front camera will also get a 13 MP sensor.
The dimensions of the smartphone will be 154.7 × 73.3 × 8.9 mm, compared to 152.1 × 72.7 × 8.9 mm of its predecessor. At the same time, it will be one gram lighter - 188 g.
The Pixel 9a, according to unofficial data, will go on sale in March 2025, earlier than usual, which means that the company can do the Google I/O event without introducing new devices.
The price of the smartphone will remain the same: 499 dollars.
