There is a lot of shadow and unfair competition in wine industry of Armenia: Avag Harutyunyan

Winemaking has been practiced in the Armenian highlands for about 11,000 years, and during the last 5,000-6,000 years, it has determined the identity of us Armenians, said Avag Harutyunyan, president of the National Wine Center, in an interview with EconoMIX program author Suren Parsyan.

What opportunities, competitive advantage does the Armenian wine industry have compared to other countries in the region? According to Avag Harutyunyan, Armenia has great potential: although the area of ​​the country is small, it has thousands of locations for growing grapes, about 500 aboriginal grape varieties, hundreds of which are very successful at the global market.

"We have what no one else has," he says, noting that this is what makes Armenia's wine industry stand out.

Avag Harutyunyan also said that there is shadow and unfair competition in the domestic market of Armenia.
