WhatsApp has introduced an auto-translate feature for chats in its latest beta update for Android devices, according to WABetaInfo.
The new option allows users to translate selected messages or automate the translation of all new messages into the chosen language. To use this feature, users need to download the appropriate language pack after selecting it. Translations are processed entirely on the device, ensuring the privacy of the translated information.
Currently, the following languages are supported: English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi. This new feature can be particularly useful for those who frequently communicate with people who speak different languages.
To test this feature, users must download the messenger client from Google Play with build number 2.24.15.12. It is not yet announced when auto-translation will appear in the release version of the app.
