A keyboard has been created that works quietly and costs $3,400

Enthusiast Ryan Norbauer has developed his own keyboard, Seneca, which thanks to capacitive technology and unique stabilizers ensures virtually silent use. This was reported by Tom's Hardware portal.

Seneca stands out not only for its technical specifications but also for its design, done in a minimalist retro style with the use of three color schemes for the keys. At the same time, the keyboard does not have a numeric block.

According to Norbauer, key stabilizers have been one of the most common and unresolved problems in the industry, but his development aims to address this. It took the engineer five years and a significant amount of personal funds to create his keyboard and key mechanism.

It is expected that Seneca will be available for sale in the summer of this year at a price of $3,400 (approximately 312,900 rubles) — such a price is justified by the complexity of the mechanisms under each key and the long development of the keyboard, which, as Norbauer assures, has no analogs.

One of the most expensive keyboards in the world is the ADATA XPG Golden Summoner, presented in 2020 with a 24-carat gold coating, which costs $10,000.
